The Milesight VS351 is built for people counting in clearly defined indoor passage areas where compact size, wireless installation, and anonymous detection matter. The battery-powered version uses both radar and thermopile sensing to count people in two directions. That makes it suitable for entrances, corridors, transitions between zones, smaller retail entries, office access points, and internal passages where camera-based systems are not wanted.

The practical advantage is the combination of compact form factor and solid counting performance. The sensor is designed for projects that need foot traffic data without the cost and complexity of extensive wiring or video-based counting systems. For operators of office sites, retail stores, side areas, restrooms, or public buildings, this is often the right fit when the goal is to understand usage and traffic levels in a straightforward way.
