Meshtastic devices make it possible to build a private LoRa mesh network for communication, location sharing, field testing, and simple data transmission without relying on mobile networks, WiFi, or existing internet infrastructure. They are used by developers, makers, outdoor users, emergency communication groups, system integrators, and businesses that need long-range wireless communication in areas where normal connectivity is limited or unavailable.
In this category, you can buy Meshtastic devices and kits for different types of deployments, from compact mobile nodes and handheld devices to GPS trackers, starter kits, antennas, WisBlock modules, and repeater setups. The selection includes EU868-compatible Meshtastic hardware suitable for testing, prototyping, outdoor use, private radio networks, and expanding existing LoRa mesh installations.
Choose the Right Meshtastic Kit, Node, Tracker, or Repeater
A Meshtastic starter kit is a good choice if you want to build or test your first LoRa mesh network. Ready-to-use handheld devices are better suited for portable communication, while GPS-enabled Meshtastic trackers are useful for location sharing, asset tracking, and mobile field applications. For wider coverage, outdoor nodes, antennas, and solar-powered Meshtastic repeaters can help extend the range and stability of a mesh network.
Kilo Electronics offers Meshtastic-compatible hardware from brands such as RAKwireless for developers, technical users, and professional IoT projects. Compare devices by radio frequency, form factor, power supply, display, GNSS support, antenna connection, and outdoor suitability to find the right hardware for your application.
Compare Meshtastic devices: handheld, starter kit or repeater?
| Your project | Hardware in our catalog | Selection point |
|---|---|---|
| A compact handheld with display and GNSS | WisMesh Pocket V2 RAK10709 | Radio region and included components |
| Build your own node | WisBlock starter kit with RAK4631 | Required antenna, power, enclosure and firmware |
| Use an elevated outdoor location | WisMesh Repeater Mini | Solar supply, mounting and links to other nodes |
Check the product page for current availability. A development kit is not the same as a fully assembled handheld. Our Meshtastic device buying guide explains the choices in more detail.
What do you need for a first Meshtastic network?
For your own connection test, use at least two compatible nodes with the correct radio region and matching settings. Confirm Meshtastic support for the exact hardware and firmware. LoRa hardware alone does not make a device Meshtastic-compatible. A LoRaWAN gateway does not replace a Meshtastic node.
Choose antennas for the radio band and connector. Terrain, obstacles, mounting height and settings affect the connection; a repeater cannot guarantee a fixed range. Buy Meshtastic devices for the installation region. EU868 hardware is not automatically suitable for US915.
