Milesight LoRaWAN Controller IP67 Multi I/O Modbus with Solar Panel UC501-No3GL NB-IoT/Cat.1
The Milesight UC501 N03GL is an NB-IoT sensor hub controller for acquiring data from field devices via GPIO, analog inputs, RS232/RS485, and SDI-12. It forwards data over NB-IoT/Cat.M using MQTT/TCP/UDP and supports local storage plus reliability features for intermittent networks. Built for outdoor deployments with IP68 protection and flexible power options including rechargeable batteries, integrated solar, or DC input.

The Milesight UC501 N03GL is a rugged multi-interface controller for projects where multiple sensor types need to be connected at one location and pushed to a cloud platform over cellular. Instead of deploying separate gateways per interface, the UC501 acts as a single field node: it collects signals from industrial I/O, converts values where needed, stores them locally, and transmits them via NB-IoT/Cat.M.
Cellular coverage is often the simplest path for remote sites. The UC501 N03GL uses existing base-station infrastructure and supports common integration paths via MQTT/TCP/UDP (with AWS listed as an application mode), so it can fit into both lightweight dashboards and enterprise IoT platforms.
To protect data quality in real deployments, it includes local storage (up to 10,000 entries), data retrieval, retransmission, and cumulative reporting (up to 12 packets per report) to reduce transmission cost and power draw while improving completeness. It also supports threshold alarms and change alarms to trigger alerts when readings move out of expected ranges.
The hardware is built for outdoor operation: an IP68 enclosure (1 m depth for 7 days) and M12 A-coded connectors help resist water, dust, corrosion, and vibration. Power can be tailored to the site using rechargeable 18650 batteries, an embedded 6 V / 1.7 W solar panel, or 5–24 VDC via M12. Configuration is fast via NFC (mobile app) or downlink, with an internal USB Type-C console port.
Concrete real-world examples:
Water & hydrology monitoring: connect SDI-12 instruments (level, rainfall, water quality) at remote points with solar power.
Agriculture & irrigation control: combine SDI-12 and analog sensors and alert on thresholds for field operations.
Industrial retrofit: bring 4–20 mA / 0–10 V sensors plus RS485 Modbus RTU onto NB-IoT without new local infrastructure.
Meter and pulse reading: use GPIO as a pulse counter for water/gas/electric metering with efficient cumulative reports.
Remote infrastructure sites: unify multiple sensors in one IP68 node and push data reliably over cellular.
