The RAKwireless RAK19011 is a WisBlock Dual IO Base Board with Power Slot and is described as the biggest and most versatile WisBlock base board in your text. WisBlock follows a modular building-block approach: a WisBlock Core provides processing, while sensor, radio, and I/O modules are added as needed. The base board is the carrier platform that provides the slots and the interconnect needed to assemble a custom device reliably.
RAK19011 connects the WisBlock Core, WisBlock Power, and additional WisBlock modules through high-speed board-to-board connectors to provide secure interconnection and help maintain data-bus signal integrity. Modules are fixed with screws, improving reliability in vibrating environments. A user-defined push button is also included.
Slot layout and development access:
1× Core slot
1× Power slot
2× I/O slots
6× sensor slots (A–F)
Two 2.54 mm pitch headers exposing key Core I/O, including UART, I2C, SPI, many I/O pins, and USB as a communication bus referenced as accessible via headers.
This makes the RAK19011 a strong choice for multi-module devices—e.g., builds combining several sensors, GNSS modules, and additional I/O expansions—while keeping the system modular and serviceable. The text recommends the WisBlock IO Pin Mapping Tool to proactively prevent pin conflicts across module combinations.
Important note from the text: the RAK19011 requires a WisBlock power module for power and connector interfaces, since the base board itself lacks USB and battery/power connectors; those functions must be added using an appropriate power module. Programming support is mentioned via Arduino IDE BSP and PlatformIO BSP.
