The Milesight UC512 DI 868M is a LoRaWAN solenoid valve controller for irrigation and water distribution setups where you want repeatable valve control and measurable consumption data. It drives two 2-wire DC 12V latching solenoid valves and counts pulse-output water meters through two digital inputs, so irrigation can be automated based on time and verified by actual delivered volume.
In typical installations, one UC512 runs two separate zones. A common approach is to start a zone on a schedule and stop it automatically once a target volume has been delivered (for example, “Zone 1: 600 liters”), using meter pulses as the stop condition. This is widely used on farms, in horticulture, and on commercial sites because flow rates vary with pressure, line length, and clogging—so runtime alone often leads to inconsistent watering. The second valve is often assigned to another irrigation line or area with a different schedule or volume target.
Pulse data is also used for practical monitoring. If measured volume rises faster than expected or exceeds a threshold within a time window, the system can raise an alert—often the earliest sign of a leak, a damaged line, or a valve that isn’t closing properly. On municipal sites such as parks or sports fields, the same setup supports automated watering while keeping zone- or site-level consumption records for accountability and cost control.
For outdoor deployments, the UC512 uses an IP68-rated enclosure and M12 connectivity designed for wet and harsh environments. It can execute preset commands autonomously during temporary network outages, helping irrigation continue as configured. Commissioning is done via NFC with a mobile app, and multicast helps roll out changes efficiently across groups of controllers.
This version uses an internal antenna, simplifying installation when you don’t want an external antenna run.
