The Dragino DS03A-LB is built for LoRaWAN deployments where door events, open-state duration, and access activity need to be monitored remotely. It does more than report open or closed status. It also records how long the door stayed open and counts how many times it was opened. That matters in places where access needs to be documented without checking the site in person.
Typical installation points include external doors on technical buildings, access doors on containers, gates in storage areas, maintenance doors at infrastructure sites, equipment cabinets, and secondary rooms in commercial properties. In these setups, operators often care not only about whether a door is open, but whether it has been left open too long or is being used more often than expected. That is where the open alarm function becomes useful.
For integrators, the DS03A-LB fits projects where a door contact needs to be tied into a LoRaWAN network without mains power or additional signal cabling. The datalog function stores events when network coverage is temporarily unavailable and uploads them later. That is practical for remote locations, outdoor facilities, and technical sites where connectivity may not always be stable.
The unit is designed for outdoor use, supports wall mounting, and comes in a weatherproof enclosure. Bluetooth 5.1 helps with setup on site, and OTA firmware updates reduce maintenance visits. The LB version uses an 8500 mAh Li/SOCl2 battery and is intended for long-term installations where maintenance should stay low.
