Product Description Technical Details

RAKwireless RAK12006 is a compact PIR module for WisBlock builds when you want reliable motion or occupancy detection without cameras or complex processing. PIR sensors detect changes in infrared radiation in their field of view—commonly caused by people or animals—making them well suited for event-driven IoT nodes and low-power automation triggers.

The module uses the Senba Sensing AM312 and includes digital signal processing plus a built-in filter to reduce interference from other frequencies. Output is provided as a Schmitt trigger REL signal, which helps deliver a stable digital state that’s easy to read in firmware, use for interrupts, or drive simple automation logic.

Common real-world applications include:

Security and intrusion triggers for rooms, cabinets, and enclosures.

Lighting automation in hallways, storage areas, and utility spaces.

Energy saving logic, waking systems only when motion is detected.

Building IoT occupancy indicators without collecting image data.

The module runs on 3.3 V and comes in a compact 15 × 25 mm form factor for space-constrained designs.
