Product Description Technical Details

The Milesight VS350 is built for people counting in clearly defined passage areas. It uses two PIR sensors, detects direction of movement, and counts people in both directions. This makes it suitable for entrances, connecting corridors, restroom access points, smaller retail zones, office areas, and other passages where the goal is not to identify individuals but to track movement flow.

Unlike camera-based systems, the VS350 does not process personally identifiable image data. That makes it useful for projects where visitor flow needs to be monitored without moving into video analytics or more complex privacy discussions. For operators of office spaces, retail sites, public buildings, or service areas, this is often the more practical entry point into people counting.

The sensor is most useful where a cost-conscious solution is needed for basic occupancy and traffic data. Typical use cases include small store entrances, transitions between building areas, side rooms, washrooms, meeting zones, or internal passages. The counting data can be used to adapt cleaning schedules, assess area usage, compare traffic levels, or trigger simple automations.

Installation is flexible with both ceiling and wall mounting options. Through Milesight D2D, the sensor can also be linked with other compatible devices, for example to switch lights or trigger other functions based on movement data. For integrators, it is also relevant that configuration is available via NFC and downlink, and that data storage, retransmission, and retrieval are supported.
