The Milesight UC511 DI EA 868 is a LoRaWAN solenoid valve controller built for irrigation and water distribution systems where you need reliable valve switching and measurable water usage. It controls two 2-wire DC 12V latching solenoid valves and provides two digital inputs for pulse water meters, so watering can be automated and verified with real consumption data—not guesswork.
In the field, the UC511 is commonly used to run two independent irrigation zones from one enclosure. A typical setup is to open a valve on a schedule and then stop it either after a defined runtime or after a target volume has been delivered, using water-meter pulses as the stop condition. That’s useful in agriculture and horticulture where consistent liters-per-zone matter, especially with drip lines and long runs where pressure and flow vary.
The pulse inputs are also used for abnormal usage detection. For example, you can raise an alarm (and trigger a control action through your platform) when water volume exceeds a threshold within a time window—often the first practical indicator of a burst line, a broken fitting, or a valve that isn’t fully closing. On municipal sites such as parks or sports fields, the same metering data supports site-level consumption reporting and helps catch leaks early before they turn into ongoing costs.
For remote deployments, the UC511 can execute preset commands autonomously when network connectivity is temporarily unavailable, helping irrigation continue according to the configured logic. The IP68 enclosure and M12 connectivity are designed for wet and harsh outdoor environments, while NFC configuration speeds up commissioning and maintenance on-site. For larger rollouts, multicast can be used to apply configuration changes or control actions across groups of controllers efficiently.
