The Milesight WT101 is built for radiator systems where temperature control should go beyond the rough adjustment of a standard thermostatic head. Instead of relying on fixed mechanical settings, it adjusts valve opening continuously based on the measured room temperature. This allows more precise heat output control, which can improve comfort and reduce unnecessary heating energy in real buildings.
The 868 MHz LoRaWAN version is especially relevant for retrofit projects in existing buildings where wireless deployment is preferred over running new control cabling. Typical use cases include hotels, residential buildings, office spaces, schools, hospitals, and other properties with many radiators across separate rooms. In these environments, room-by-room control is often much more useful than a one-size-fits-all heating approach.
A key strength of the WT101 is the combination of local valve regulation and wireless management. Heating schedules, open-window detection, freeze protection, and maximum valve opening control all help reduce wasted heat. This matters especially in buildings with changing occupancy. If a window is opened or a room is only used at certain times, heating behavior can be adjusted accordingly instead of continuing to heat unnecessarily.
The device also fits larger rollout projects well. NFC configuration, downlink control, and FUOTA support make it easier to manage many thermostats centrally. For hotels, apartment operators, or office building managers, this matters more than simple single-device functionality because it reduces on-site effort and ongoing maintenance overhead.
WT101 is the battery-powered version in the series. It runs on replaceable AA batteries and is designed for long service life. Its wide valve compatibility also makes it easier to retrofit across existing radiator installations without forcing a narrow hardware standard.
