The Milesight EM500 W100 is designed for monitoring points where you need reliable distance measurement at longer ranges—without contact probes, moving parts in the medium, or cable runs. Installed above the target, it measures the distance to a water surface or object using ultrasonic waves. From that distance, you can derive level or fill status for water assets, large tanks, and storage points.

The W100 variant covers 0.5 to 10 m and specifies ±1% FS accuracy. That makes it a practical choice for larger basins, wider structures, and taller tanks where shorter-range sensors can be limiting. With an IP67-rated and UV-resistant enclosure, it’s built for long-term outdoor exposure.

Concrete real-world examples:

River level monitoring: measure distance to the water surface, trend levels over time, and trigger threshold alerts.

Retention basins / overflow structures: detect rising levels early and support operational planning.

Pits and pump sumps: spot rapid level changes (change alarms) before sites become critical.

Large water or process tanks: monitor without hardware touching the liquid—useful when fouling or access is a problem.

Bulk storage (bins/silos): track inventory levels in larger containers to reduce manual checks and prevent stockouts.

Wireless reporting uses LoRaWAN (EU868) with OTAA/ABP (Class A). Commissioning is practical via NFC (mobile app) or USB Type-C (PC software/console), with downlink configuration supported. Reliability features include on-device data storage (1,000 entries), data retransmission, and data retrieval, plus threshold and change alarms.
