LoRaWAN Magnetic Contact (EU868) – Milesight WS301-868M

The Milesight WS301-868M is a wireless magnetic contact designed for reliable door and window status monitoring. It detects open/close events and reports them over LoRaWAN (EU868) to standard gateways and network servers, making it a practical building block for intrusion awareness, access monitoring, and automation workflows.

For stronger security, WS301 includes tamper detection to alert when someone attempts to remove or dismount the device. In real deployments, this enables alarm rules such as “unexpected entry”, “door left open”, or “tamper event” for sensitive areas like storage rooms, technical spaces, or emergency exits.

Setup is built for fast rollouts: compact form factor, installation on flat surfaces using screws or 3M tape, and configuration via NFC in a mobile app. WS301 also supports Milesight D2D (device-to-device) over LoRa for direct communication between compatible Milesight nodes without requiring a LoRaWAN gateway—useful for low-latency local actions.
