Product Description Technical Details

The Milesight EM400-TLD N03GL is a specialized sensor for small and mini bin fill-level monitoring and related distance/level applications where measurement stability is critical. Using time-of-flight (ToF), it provides high accuracy with minimal blind spot, making it well suited to challenging bin geometries.

It includes two pre-set modes for fast deployment:

Standard mode for general distance/level monitoring

Bin mode tuned for waste-bin monitoring behavior

Beyond distance, it adds operational context: an internal accelerometer reports normal/tilt status (useful for detecting movement, tipping, or validating mounting conditions) and the device measures temperature for additional site context. This cellular model also includes GNSS positioning (longitude/latitude), helping map measurements to locations for distributed or mobile deployments.

For harsh sites, it uses an IP67 enclosure and conformal coating to protect electronics. Power comes from 2× 9000 mAh ER26500 Li-SOCl2 batteries. The manufacturer states ~10 years on TCP/UDP or ~5 years on MQTT/AWS under the specified reporting conditions.
