The Milesight WS302 is a LoRaWAN® noise level sensor built for continuous monitoring of sound levels in decibels—useful when you need objective data for comfort, policy enforcement, or operational decisions. Instead of spot checks, WS302 turns noise into a time series you can alarm on and analyze.
It supports A-weighting and C-weighting (software switchable) so you can align measurements with the environment. An optional fast time weighting mode (125 ms time constant) helps capture unstable noise with large fluctuations, while standard reporting supports both peaks and longer-term exposure patterns. WS302 can report SPL Actual, Leq (equivalent continuous sound level), and Lmax (maximum sound level) based on different weighting methods.
Deployment is designed to be simple: configuration and power control are available via a mobile app using NFC, or remotely by downlink. An onboard status/alarm LED provides quick local feedback, and a threshold alarm feature enables noise alerts. Connectivity is LoRaWAN Class A (OTAA/ABP) and works with standard gateways and network servers. Power comes from two replaceable ER14505 Li-SOCl2 batteries (2700 mAh each) for multi-year operation depending on reporting interval, spreading factor, and whether fast weighting is enabled.
Typical real-world use cases:
Offices & meeting rooms: identify noisy periods, support quiet policies
Schools & libraries: track noise hotspots and validate mitigation steps
Hotels & hospitals: monitor corridors and waiting areas for comfort
Short-term rentals (Airbnb, vacation rentals): guest noise monitoring to detect parties or quiet-hour violations early using threshold alerts (no audio recording)
Service areas & workspaces: trigger alerts when thresholds are exceeded
