Gateway Solar Backup Battery – RAKwireless RAK9154

The RAK9154 Solar Battery Lite for Gateway is a compact backup power unit designed to keep LoRaWAN gateways (such as WisGate Edge Pro) running through short grid outages and brownouts. It captures energy from its included solar panel, stores it in the internal battery, and supplies stable DC power when mains power drops—helping gateways avoid reboots and keeping sensor networks online.

With a stated 90% energy efficiency, it can support a gateway for about 0.4 days (~10.5 hours) under moderate use, making it well suited for bridging short interruptions and unstable power conditions. For operational efficiency, battery status and charging progress can be checked remotely through the WisGateOS 2 interface or the WisDM gateway management platform, enabling proactive maintenance and fewer site visits.

Important notes:
