Product Description Technical Details

The RAKwireless RAK19010 is designed as the foundation for modular WisBlock builds when you need a small carrier board with flexible power options. Instead of locking you into one supply method, the RAK19010 separates power from the base board via a dedicated power slot—so you can pair it with a compatible WisBlock Power module that matches your application.

The board provides a reserved slot for the power module, one slot for a WisBlock Core module, one IO slot, and four sensor slots (A–D) for smaller WisBlock modules. Modules interconnect through high-speed board-to-board connectors and are secured using screws, improving reliability and helping maintain signal integrity—particularly useful in industrial or vibration-prone installations. Smaller modules can be mounted on the top or bottom side depending on your mechanical layout. For system bring-up and custom integration, the board also exposes three 2.54 mm pitch headers with access to BOOT, GPIO, ADC, I2C, and UART pins.

In practice, the RAK19010 is used to rapidly prototype IoT sensor nodes, build environmental or facility monitoring devices, and create modular data-acquisition setups for industrial environments. It’s also a solid choice when you want to standardize a single base platform and swap power options depending on whether the device is battery-driven, solar-assisted, powered from variable DC rails, or supplied over Ethernet using PoE (depending on the selected compatible power board). If your enclosure requires separating modules from the base board, compatible WisBlock sensor/IO extension cables can be used to reposition modules.
