Product Description Technical Details

This bundle pairs a compact WisBlock carrier platform with a dedicated power-slot module so you can assemble a working IoT device quickly from a WisBlock Core and expansion modules. WisBlock follows a building-block approach: a Core processing board plugs into the Base board and is expanded with additional modules (e.g., sensors or I/O). The Base uses high-speed board-to-board connectors to provide reliable interconnection and maintain signal integrity when building custom devices.

The kit includes the RAK19010 WisBlock Base Board with Power Slot, featuring a practical slot layout that balances size and versatility:

1× WisBlock Core slot

1× I/O slot

4× sensor slots

As stated in the text, power is separated from the baseboard to support more supply options via a Power Slot module.

That’s exactly what the included RAK19012 WisBlock USB LiPo Solar Power Slot Module provides. It is a power board with:

USB-C for programming, debugging, and firmware upload to the WisBlock Core

A battery connector with an onboard charger

A solar panel connector for charging

Charge-status indication, two user-configurable LEDs, and a reset button

This makes the kit well-suited for prototyping and field trials where you want straightforward USB-C bring-up and a battery-powered device, with optional solar charging (within the stated limits). The text also recommends the WisBlock IO Pin Mapping Tool to prevent pin conflicts when combining multiple modules.

Notes stated in the text: fasten modules with screws for proper function. Only 3.7–4.2 V rechargeable Li-ion batteries are supported. Only 5 V solar panels (up to 6 V) are supported; do not use 12 V panels.
