DC-DC Buck-Boost Module for Solar, Wind and Hydro Power – Texas Instruments TPS55165-Q1 RAKwireless RAK19004

The RAK19004 is an external WisBlock power module for feeding energy from variable power sources into a usable 5 V rail. It converts input voltages from 2 V to 36 V into a fixed 5 V output and is built for installations where power does not come from a stable supply.

That fits small solar panels, off-grid sensor points, test setups using wind or hydro power, and other deployments where fluctuating input voltage has to be turned into a usable 5 V supply. For developers running WisBlock hardware outside standard power infrastructure, the module works as a compact interface between the energy source and the base board.

At the center is the Texas Instruments TPS55165-Q1, a DC-DC buck-boost converter. After startup, the module provides a stable 5 V output from a varying input source. Output current can reach up to 1 A. Startup requires a minimum input voltage of 5.3 V. Once running, the specified operating input range is wider.

This is not a standard plug-in WisBlock module with a WisConnector. It is an external board with four mounting holes, so it can be placed where it fits best inside an enclosure or on a mounting plate. Power input is handled through a through-hole connector, while the 5 V output to the WisBlock base uses an SMD connector. A cable from the RAK19004 to the WisBlock Base solar connector is included.
