The RAK13006 is a WisBlock interface module that adds reliable CAN bus connectivity to WisBlock Core projects and embedded prototypes. It combines Microchip’s MCP2518FD CAN controller with the ATA6563 transceiver: the controller handles CAN protocol over SPI, while the transceiver provides the physical CANH/CANL interface for robust differential signaling.
It supports both classic CAN 2.0B and CAN FD, making it a solid choice for modern industrial control and vehicle networks where you may need CAN compatibility today and CAN FD readiness for newer nodes. Typical applications include vehicle telemetry and diagnostics, off-highway machinery, robotics/AGVs, factory automation, and energy systems where CAN is used for motor drives, inverters, or battery subsystems. It can also fit building automation projects that use CAN-based fieldbus segments.
For faster bench setups, the module includes a slide switch to configure termination resistance on the CANH/CANL lines—handy when you’re switching between a test bus and an existing, already-terminated CAN network.
