RAKwireless RAK12039 WisBlock Particle Matter Sensor (Plantower PMSA003I, PM1.0/PM2.5/PM10)

The RAKwireless RAK12039 adds the Plantower PMSA003I as a digital particle matter sensor to the WisBlock ecosystem. It captures PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10 concentrations, making it a practical foundation for indoor air quality (IAQ) products and monitoring nodes where particulate trends, alerts, and filtration control logic matter.

A key mechanical advantage is the split design: the PM sensor is separated from the I/O module and connected via a flex PCB cable. This lets you position the sensing head where airflow and vents are optimal inside an enclosure, while keeping the carrier board elsewhere—often simplifying product packaging and air-path design.

The module supports real-time response, a minimum distinguishable particle diameter of 0.3 µm, and particle size measurement ranges of 0.3–1.0 µm, 1.0–2.5 µm, and 2.5–10 µm. Communication is over I2C with a stated 3.3 V interface voltage. For electrically noisy environments, the description highlights anti-interference performance via a shielded structure.
