RAK WisBlock RAK12023 + RAK12035 Soil Moisture & Temperature Sensor Kit

The RAK12023 + RAK12035 kit is a practical way to add soil moisture and soil temperature monitoring to a WisBlock build—whether you’re working on a garden project, a small agriculture prototype, or a classroom experiment.

The star of the kit is the RAK12035 probe, built around the Atmel ATTINY441-SSU. It uses capacitive sensing with a coated sensing element, which generally lasts longer in real soil than classic resistive probes. Readings are transferred digitally over I2C, so you avoid the noise and drift that can come with analog-output sensors.

A big day-to-day advantage: calibration travels with the probe. Once you calibrate a RAK12035, the calibration data is stored on the sensor itself—so you can plug it into another compatible WisBlock Core and keep working without repeating the calibration process.

The RAK12023 connector module integrates cleanly with WisBlock via the standard IO connector and provides dedicated ports for the probe. The hardware layout includes three probe connectors (the provided spec notes that only one probe is used at a time).
