The RAK1920 Sensor Connector Module makes WisBlock projects far more flexible by adding plug-in compatibility with the most widely used sensor breakout ecosystems. It acts as a clean, standard interface layer so you can integrate proven sensor modules without designing custom wiring or adapter boards.
The module supports:
MikroElektronika Click Boards™ via a Click!-compatible socket
SparkFun Qwiic Connect™ sensors via a Qwiic connector (3.3 V)
SeeedStudio Grove™ sensors via two Grove-compatible ports
The Grove ports are split by use case:
Grove Port 1: I²C + digital IO sensors
Grove Port 2: UART + analog (ADC) sensors
Combined with a WisBlock Core such as the RAK4631, the RAK1920 becomes a practical bridge between standard sensors and wireless communication like LoRaWAN®, LoRa point-to-point, or BLE.
It’s also built with low-power deployments in mind: WisBlock allows the module to be fully powered down to reduce idle consumption, making it a strong choice for battery-powered sensor nodes. A built-in PTC thermistor adds protection against power output overload — helpful during prototyping and real deployments alike.
If your goal is to build modular IoT devices with maximum sensor flexibility, the RAK1920 is a solid foundation.
