This is a sensor hub with a probe, and the probe actually defines what you measure: the RK200-03 pyranometer probe measures solar radiation (irradiance), while the RAK2560 WisNode Sensor Hub acts as the rugged datalogger and connectivity device.
Designed for field deployments, the hub comes in an IP66-rated enclosure and offers two ports for connecting sensor probes or an external power source. Depending on the installation site, it can run on battery power or use 12 V DC / a solar panel. Setup and configuration are handled through the WisToolBox app (mobile and desktop), making rollouts and maintenance straightforward.
Connectivity is a key buying point: the system reports measurements over LoRaWAN (8xx–9xx MHz / 868–930 MHz) and NB-IoT, so you can deploy in low-power LPWAN environments or rely on cellular connectivity where needed.
Real-world use cases
Solar farms / PV plants: track irradiance for performance ratio, yield analysis, diagnostics (soiling, shading, degradation).
Weather and environmental monitoring: irradiance as a core parameter in stations and research sites.
Energy-dependent systems: optimize control logic based on real irradiance inputs.
Notes
Supports 2–4× ER18505 3.6 V 4000 mAh Li-SOCl2 primary batteries; not included.
Alternative power: 12 V DC or solar panel.
