RAKwireless RAK12015 is a compact vibration detection module for WisBlock when you need a clear “vibration / shock detected” signal for event-driven systems. It uses the ANT-801S, a high-precision vibration sensor capable of detecting micro shocks and fine vibration with no direction limits. In practice, this makes placement and mounting orientation less critical compared to direction-sensitive sensing approaches.

This type of sensor is commonly used when the goal is simple, reliable triggering rather than high-rate waveform analysis:

Condition monitoring to flag abnormal vibration events or “machine running vs. stopped” behaviors.

Tamper and theft detection for enclosures, cabinets, asset boxes, and equipment housings.

Transport and handling logging, capturing shocks as events during shipping or movement of valuable assets.

Facility and infrastructure event detection, where vibration indicates mechanical activity or external impact.

The module runs on 3.3 V and fits well into battery-powered WisBlock nodes. It’s especially useful in low-power designs that wake the MCU, log an event, or send a message only when vibration occurs.
