The WisLink Cellular Pi Hat RAK2013 (EG95-E) adds mobile connectivity to a Raspberry Pi. It’s meant for projects where Wi-Fi is not available or not reliable. The board works with Raspberry Pi 3B+ and Raspberry Pi 4.
The hat uses the Quectel EG95-E modem and is designed for mobile networks in the EMEA region. It supports several LTE modes, including Cat-4, Cat-1, and Cat-M1. Depending on the project, you can choose between higher data rates or more power-efficient operation.
Typical use cases include remote monitoring, industrial projects, outdoor sensors, and mobile IoT systems. Data can be sent over long distances using the cellular network.
The board also includes built-in audio hardware. An audio amplifier and codec are integrated, which allows VoLTE and voice communication if needed.
All main connectors are placed on one side of the board, keeping wiring simple. A mikroBUS header is included as well, making it easy to add sensors or expansion modules for things like environmental monitoring or data collection over cellular.
