The Milesight TS101 is designed for temperature measurement inside materials. Unlike standard room sensors or surface probes, it measures directly inside the product, pile, or stored mass. That matters in applications where temperature rise needs to be detected early, before anything becomes visible from the outside.
Typical use cases include hay storage, compost, tobacco stacks, mushroom farms, organic stored materials, and other products where heat build-up, fermentation, microbial activity, or quality loss can become an issue. In hay storage, the main goal is early warning of critical temperature development and reduced fire risk. In compost, it helps monitor decomposition conditions more closely. In tobacco storage, it supports quality control and stable storage conditions. It is also a good fit for mushroom farms where temperature inside substrate, bales, or growing media needs to be checked directly.
The TS101 is built as an all-in-one device with an integrated transmitter. That simplifies installation because there is no separate transmitter to mount nearby. The food-grade construction with ABS+PC housing and a 316 stainless steel probe suits applications where hygiene, material durability, and cleaning resistance matter. The phosphine-resistant design is especially relevant in storage and agricultural environments.
For long-term deployment, the sensor is designed for low maintenance. The EU868 LoRaWAN version runs on battery power and can reach very long service life with suitable reporting settings. Data storage, retrieval, and retransmission help preserve readings during temporary network interruptions.
