The Milesight UC511-DI-868M is a LoRaWAN® controller used to remotely open and close 12 V DC latching solenoid valves. It has two GPIO inputs, also supports pulse counting from water meters or flow sensors through making it suitable for both valve control and basic metering tasks.
The device is built for outdoor use and runs on an integrated solar panel with a rechargeable battery. Its IP68-rated housing and M12 industrial connectors protect it against water, dust, and harsh environmental conditions. Typical deployments include agricultural irrigation systems, landscape watering, smart city infrastructure, and remote water monitoring.
The UC511 supports local automation using simple rule logic and Milesight D2D, allowing fast valve operation even without a LoRaWAN® gateway. Configuration is done via NFC using a mobile app, while built-in LEDs provide quick status feedback. Multicast support allows controlling multiple devices at once.
It has internal payload storage and if the network connection is interrupted, the controller stores up to 500 records locally and resends them once the connection is restored. With efficient power management, long operating life, and support for multiple LoRaWAN® classes, the UC511 is a low-maintenance solution for solar-powered water control and monitoring systems.
