Environmental & Movement Sensor Hub with Probe – RAKwireless RAK2560

This is a sensor hub with a probe: the probe contains the sensors that do the measuring (RAK1901 for temperature/humidity and RAK1904 for 3-axis acceleration), while the RAK2560 sensor hub handles logging and wireless backhaul over LoRaWAN + NB-IoT.

The combination is practical when you care about both conditions and handling events. Environmental readings help you track exposure, while acceleration events capture movement, shocks, or tampering. The accelerometer can also serve as a straightforward anti-theft / tamper signal, reporting unexpected motion or orientation changes.

Common deployments:

Supply chain: document temperature/humidity exposure and detect shocks during transit or storage.

Smart city & infrastructure: monitor remote locations and detect unwanted movement or interference.

Industry: track conditions in enclosures and use motion events as a signal of unauthorized access or impacts.

Deployment can scale using a splitter cable to attach multiple probes (and Probe IO units) to a single hub port. An extension cable increases hub-to-probe distance. Configuration is done through the WisToolBox app (mobile and desktop).

The sensor hub supports 2–4× ER18505 (3.6 V, 4000 mAh) Li-SOCl2 primary batteries; batteries are not included and must be sourced separately.
