LoRaWAN Ultrasonic Distance Sensor EU868 – Dragino DDS75-LB
The Dragino DDS75-LB is a battery-powered LoRaWAN distance sensor for non-contact measurement of distance, level, or presence up to 7.5 m. This EU868 version fits measurement points in shafts, tanks, containers, or above parking bays where readings need to be sent wirelessly to an IoT server such as Kilo or other compatible platforms.

The Dragino DDS75-LB measures the distance to a flat surface using ultrasonic sensing and transmits the reading over LoRaWAN on EU868. It is built for installations where one measurement point has to run for long periods without mains power and without routine manual checks.
With its longer measurement range up to 7.5 m, the DDS75-LB is a better fit for installations where there is more vertical distance between the sensor and the target surface. That includes level measurement in deeper tanks, containers, and collection bins, water level monitoring in shafts or utility chambers, and vehicle or object detection below a mounted sensor. This type of sensor also makes sense in waste handling projects, water infrastructure, and parking systems where a defined distance to a flat surface has to be captured at regular intervals.
For integrators, it is useful when a distance reading needs to be fed into a LoRaWAN network without extra cabling or more complex measurement hardware. Bluetooth 5.1 helps with on-site setup, OTA updates reduce field maintenance, and the IP66 enclosure fits outdoor use and damp technical areas. Internal temperature compensation helps keep readings more stable when ambient conditions change.
The LB version uses a built-in 8500 mAh Li/SOCl2 battery and is intended for long service life. That makes the DDS75-LB a practical choice for distributed monitoring points where maintenance should stay low and the sensor needs to report into a LoRaWAN network over months or years.
