RAKwireless RAK13011 WisBlock Magnetic Switch Module (Reed Sensor + Magnet, GPIO Interrupt, 3.3 V)

RAKwireless RAK13011 is a straightforward magnetic switch module for WisBlock projects where you need a reliable “open/closed” signal rather than complex sensing. The sensor assembly is a normally-open reed switch paired with a magnet; when the magnet comes within 13 mm, the contacts close and the status changes cleanly—ideal for event-driven logic.

On the integration side, the module exposes the state through a single GPIO and can raise an interrupt when the reed relay status changes. That’s useful for low-power designs where you want the MCU to wake only on events instead of polling continuously. The reed switch and magnet are housed in durable ABS plastic and can be mounted with screws on most surfaces; double-sided foam tape can also be used for quick installs and prototypes.

Typical deployments include door and window contact sensors for intrusion detection, monitoring industrial safety doors and access panels, and position indication for pneumatic or hydraulic actuators. In production lines, it’s also commonly used as a simple presence/position check—e.g., confirming a cover is closed or a fixture has reached a stop.

WisBlock fit notes matter here: the module fits into a sensor slot but occupies two slots due to its size. Also note a specific compatibility constraint: RAK13011 is not compatible with the RAK3372 module when used in Slot B or Slot C on a WisBlock base board. Use Slots A, D, E, or F instead.
