RAKwireless RAK12034 WisBlock 9-Axis IMU Sensor (Bosch BMX160)

The RAKwireless RAK12034 adds a compact 9-axis IMU to the WisBlock ecosystem using the Bosch BMX160. It integrates a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and geomagnetic (magnetometer) sensor to provide the motion and orientation data engineers rely on for prototyping and product development.

Measurement ranges can be tuned to match your application: ±2 g to ±16 g acceleration and ±125 °/s to ±2000 °/s angular rate. The magnetic sensor offers 0.3 µT resolution, supporting improved heading/orientation functions. With very low power consumption (typ. 1585 µA in high-performance mode), the module is well suited for battery-powered devices and deployments where energy budget matters.

Paired with a WisBlock Core module, RAK12034 becomes a ready-to-deploy sensing node. Depending on the Core, you can forward the acquired data over LoRaWAN, LoRa point-to-point, BLE, or WiFi. Real-world, high-intent use cases include:

For advanced orientation behavior, the module can also be used with Bosch Sensortec’s BSX sensor data fusion library to refine performance.
