Product Description Technical Details

RAKwireless RAK12001 adds local fingerprint identification to WisBlock systems—useful when you want on-device authentication without relying on cloud services. The integrated GROW R307 optical fingerprint module supports both fingerprint enrollment and fingerprint matching. During enrollment, the user places the same finger twice; the module processes the captured images, generates a template, and stores it in its internal memory. During matching, it checks whether the finger on the sensor matches a stored template.

For developers, this is convenient because you don’t need to implement image processing from scratch. You interact with the module over UART using clear enroll/verify workflows, making it straightforward to integrate into firmware and build functional prototypes quickly.
