The Milesight EM500-SMTC is a professional LoRaWAN sensor that combines soil moisture, soil temperature, and electrical conductivity (EC) in one field-ready device. This trio is what most growers actually need: moisture tells you when plants are running short, temperature affects uptake and irrigation timing, and EC helps track salinity / nutrient concentration trends around the root zone. The ranges are built for real deployments: moisture 0–100%, temperature -40 to +80 °C, and EC 0–20000 µS/cm.
It’s a strong fit for smart irrigation and data-driven watering decisions—helping you reduce overwatering, spot dry zones early, and keep irrigation consistent across fields, orchards, or greenhouse sections. It also works well for research plots where you want comparable, repeatable trend data over long periods.
Built for harsh conditions, the transceiver is IP67 while the probe is IP68 and corrosion resistant—so it keeps working in wet, challenging soils. For data reliability, the device can store up to 1,000 records locally if connectivity drops and then retransmit once the network is back. Setup is quick via NFC using a phone, with additional configuration via downlink or the internal USB-C port for configuration/console.
